Endotoxins explained!
Endotoxins, primarily lipopolysaccharides (LPS), are toxic compounds coming from Gram-negative bacteria. These toxins are released into the environment and the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), following normal bacterial multiplication and death. Multiple stress factors or immunosuppression can reduce animals’ capacity to defend themselves against endotoxins, leading to a lower health, growth and productivity.

Mycotoxins (such as aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, fumonisins, zearalenone and trichothecenes) are toxic compounds produced by various fungi. Impact of heat stress on poultry
Poultry exposed to heat stress suffer from adverse effects, including high mortality rates, reduced growth and production, and lower meat & egg quality. The negative effect of heat stress has been reported on the physiology, health, production, welfare and behaviors of poultry. In heat-stressed chickens, oxidative stress and suppressed immunity are some of the physiological changes accompanying heat stress.
